Chase McMichael | Founder and Chairman
Chase McMichael has more than 15 years of senior level product development and management experience in enterprise messaging, presence, Instant Messaging, mobile/wireless applications, embedded software, and enterprise applications. A natural entrepreneur, Chase has demonstrated his ability to recognize new product and market opportunities throughout his career, transforming them into successes for the companies with which he has been associated.

Prior to founding UNBOUND Technologies, Chase was a director of product management at Oracle Corporation where, as product lead for the Real Time Collaboration (RTC) solution, he drove presence and integrated Instant Messaging to full deployment in Oracle10g. As part of this effort, he supported direct technology adoptions in EMEA and Japan. From 2000 to 2003, Chase served as a senior staff consultant and product manager at Sprint where he led the definition and creation of Sprint’s Enhanced Messaging Services (EMS) environment that ran on 16 million handsets and formed the core of the Sprint Vision 2G-1xRTT messaging solution. While at Sprint, Chase also launched Instant Messaging on the desktop and on mobile devices.  

Earlier, Chase served as vice president of product development, Internet services, at Chase Manhattan Bank. In this role, he was responsible for architecting the strategic and tactical direction for major Internet and intranet application development and deployment initiatives. In addition, he was involved in developing a direct marketing engine that leveraged data from user feedback and blogs and in working with the Commercial Loan Services Group to track customer data and sales. He began his career in a research position at the Texas Center for Superconductivity where he worked in the labs of Dr. Paul Chu.

Chase holds a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Houston. He is inventor or co-inventor on 13 U.S. patents and is an in-demand speaker on topics such as Mobile and Instant Messaging, real-time collaborative applications, word-of-mouth marketing, and social networking technology.
